How do we explain the gospel to children in a way that they can understand? How do we explain their need for a Saviour without watering down the details? How can we hold their attention long enough to explain what the Bible is all about? How can we be accurate yet sensitive to the fact that they need simpler explanations?
“The Lamb” is a book written for children five to ten years of age. Engaging children with its full-colour illustrations, this picture book takes children on a journey through the heart of the Bible’s message. Starting with the creation of the universe, the book explains key biblical concepts: Who is God? What is God like? What is sin? Where did evil come from? Why do we need a Saviour? The book concludes with a clear explanation of the identity of Jesus and his amazing provision as our Saviour.
The book makes a clear link between Jesus and the Old Testament sacrificial lamb. Issues like death are dealt with in an honest, straightforward manner. The graphic details surrounding the story of salvation are handled sensitively but not watered down. At the end, children will have an explanation of who God is and what he did for mankind on the cross. It is a message of hope that every child should hear.

The Lamb - Picture Book
I love this book. I know of two parents who came to personal faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord simply by reading this book to their young children. Biblical truth is communicated simply yet profoundly within its pages. Thank you John Cross for writing this book. And thank you God for using it to save souls.

The Lamb
The most comprehensive & foundational teaching on God’s amazing plan of salvation. This chronological teaching lays out the missing pieces that even many mature Christians have never fully understood. This beautifully illustrated teaching is just as powerful for adults as it is for children. I can not recommend it more highly. Every believer and non-believer should read this treasure.

The Lamb
The writing of this book is excellent, clear, simple and thorough. However, the illustrations perpetuate the idea that Christianity is a western religion by making Adam, Eve and Christ white. For me this spoils the book.

Favorite book
This is my favorite book that portrays the Gospel, woven through the Old and New Testament. It's beautifully illustrated and great to read with children, and it's an amazing overview of scripture for adults.

The Lamb
Such a wonderful book. We borrowed a copy from friends, and it was a great presentation of the gospel, not just for little kids, but for older people as well. I decided that we needed to have our own copy so that we could go through this book together again and again.

The Lamb
The easy to read format is really helpful for teaching English as a second language here in Mexico. The beautiful illustrations capture the attention of our students while the text is being read. Having heard this clear gospel message we pray that God would open their hearts and minds to believe God’s Word.
